Somebody get me a fucking cowl neck sweater, ASAP.

My Project Runway addiction has unleashed the fashionista I’ve always had hidden deep in my twisty artist’s heart, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. I haven’t taken time to really embrace or be inspired by fashion since I was a teenager, but I’ve not been without my appreciation for it. I watch the Sartorialist on my feed reader, I spend hours sifting aimlessly through Etsy, I occasionally slip an issue of Elle in between copies of Bust and Dynamic Graphics. I feel like this has been an exceptionally long time coming.

But enough blather. FASHION WEEK OMG.

I’ve been pretty busy with school the past couple of weeks, and I’ve only just recently gotten around to really looking at what was shown at Fashion Week earlier this month. Since I could use something non-academic to focus on for a bit, I’ll run down the looks that I loved best.

Badgley Mischka

I was extremely dubious about this collection until I got to the gray separates, which completely make up for overwrought gowns and weird robot with a see-through top thing that one chick has going on. The first look makes me positively swoony—If I was a designer, this is exactly what I’d do. Clean lines, classic draping and awesome details. The buttons up the side and lining on the sleeve are amazing. » more

Carolina Herrera

How much do I love this color palette? The wine reds are amazing, and I love the way the whole collection manages to give a vaguely Southwesterny vibe without being remotely campy or cowboy-like. Look at that red gown, GUH. » more

Charlotte Ronson

Ignoring the weird-ass wraps perched atop some of the models heads, I loved how effortless and casual this collection felt. These are clothes I can imagine living in. Comfortable + sassy = win. » more

Christian Siriano

It’s so refreshing to know that Christian continues to be fucking awesome. I’m a sucker for classic Hollywood glamour, and this whole collection just screams it. I particularly love the black jacket in the first look. It’s definitely fierce. » more

Cynthia Steffe

The Catholic school girl look should be tired by now, but apparently not, because this entire collection is making me drool all over my keyboard. I think it’s the combination of clean lines with irrepressible femininity. I also really like the color palette, I think it makes these pieces all the more versatile. » more

Daniel Vosovic

Most favorite Project Runway designer ever. This was his first non-PR collection, yay. I’m so proud of him. ♥ There were some fabric choices I was a little dubious about here, namely the marbled green, but the thing I love most about Daniel’s style is the classic shapes and attention to detail, both of which prevail here. » more

Elie Tahari

Can you tell yet what type of styles I like best? XD To me, there’s nothing more awesome than when a garment manages to look clean and chic while being vaguely slouchy. And look at those kick ass boots, unf. » more

Elisa Palomino

While I would never wear these clothes, I adore this collection. The retro Twenties vibe is incredible, and the artistry and styling absolutely blew me away. It’s all so soft and pretty. Love it. » more

Michael Kors

I swear to God, if I don’t end up with a giant cowl-necked sweater this Fall, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying. I particularly love the middle look—The fitted jacket in contrast with the softer pants is gorgeous. This is why we trust Michael Kors, ladies and gentlemen; he knows WTF he’s talking about. » more
